The Thrill of Revival and the Heat of Competition
Last week in Ada, Ohio, the Tater Built Turbochargers team showcased their technical prowess and unyielding dedication. In a thrilling turn of events, we brought a mechanic’s truck, dormant for two years, back to roaring life. The transformation involved fitting a stock HE351CW turbocharger onto a second-generation VP44 stock manifold, complemented by a spring gate wastegate. This meticulous setup was not just for show; it was prepped and finely tuned on our dyno, all in record time.
Pushing the Limits: The Dyno Test
The truck, a testament to our engineering skills, registered an impressive 560 horsepower at 42 psi boost on our dyno. The clock was ticking, and we faced a race against time. Pulling the truck off the dyno at 3:15 PM for a pulling event that started at 3:00 PM, our driver was already slated as the second contestant in his class. With only three trucks ahead of him, the pressure was on.
Showcasing Our Tater Built 2.550 Plug Workstock Turbochargers
Despite the setback, the event was a showcase of our Tater Built 2.550 plug workstock turbochargers. The videos attached demonstrate a variety of trucks equipped with our turbochargers, delivering stellar performances. These machines, bearing the Tater Built name, stood as proof of our commitment to quality and performance.
Lessons Learned and Looking Forward
This experience at Ada, Ohio, was more than a competition. It was a testament to our team’s ability to face challenges head-on, adapt quickly, and push the boundaries of what’s possible in turbocharger technology. Every event is a learning opportunity, and we are already gearing up for the next challenge, armed with the knowledge and experience gained from this one. Stay tuned for more updates and follow our journey as we continue to keep the Tater Built name synonymous with excellence in the turbocharging world.
